Worship Services

Sunday worship

(see Children in Worship)

10:00 a.m.
Special arrangements are offered for young children during our full-length service.
Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers.
There's a Children’s Message early in the service
with an option of “Children’s Church” after for 4 year olds - 2nd or 3rd grade.

Special Services

Sunday PM
Throughout the year we occasionally hold special services on Sunday afternoons or evenings.
These may offer our praise and worship,
seek for healing and wholeness,
or look for comfort (as in our Blue Christmas service).

Prayer Services
When we feel God calling us to pray, we set aside a time for prayer
to deepen our personal faith,
to seek God's guidance for our church,
or to pray for others.

Holy Days
We gather together to celebrate Jesus' birth on
Christmas Eve
to repent on
Ash Wednday
to sit at the Lord's Table on
Maundy Thursday
and to stand at the foot of the cross on
Good Friday.

O come, let us worship and bow down,
let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!
Psalm 95:6

Worship style

The spirit is joyful and informal. We energetically sing many different styles of music, including songs from other cultures. A projection system gives visual impact to our worship. We enjoy coming together and we love to worship God! The energy and vitality exhibited by children and youth is welcomed. We continually look for ways to be inclusive and joyfully extend Jesus’ welcome to all people.

We think of worship as a dialogue with God in which we sing, we pray, we praise, we listen, we learn, we stretch and we grow. We receive God’s word and blessings and offer in return our gifts, our hearts and our service. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. There’s no place else we’d rather be!

Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth;
sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise.
Psalm 66:1-2

Children in worship

We believe worship can and should be both “friendly” for kids and meaningful to adults. At the 10:00 service, infants and toddlers are welcome to stay in the sanctuary.
If they are restless, there are other choices available for them.
There are
“busy boxes” with activities for little hands.
In the
children’s corner (off to one side of the main worship area) they can have a bit of privacy and room to walk around with a parent.
The 10:00 a.m. service offers a
children’s message and optional children’s church for young children.
Warm and friendly care is provided in the
nursery every week during the 10:00 service. When care is not available, parents who wish to use the nursery will be able to listen to the service while watching their children.

"Let the little children come to me; do not stop them;
for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.
Mark 10:14

Prayer

Every Sunday during our worship both the people and the pastor lift up the needs and thanksgivings of people locally and throughout the world as we share joys and concerns in prayer.

A Prayer Corner in the back of the sanctuary offers a place for a private and confidential time of prayer alone or with a prayer partner. A group often gathers for a circle of prayer soon after worship to pray. As there is need, we pray for individuals, rejoice in the worship we’ve had, or pray for the church and its people.

Our Prayer Chain is made up of people who are committed to praying for a particular need on a moment’s notice.

The Vision Prayer Team meets twice a month to listen for God’s word to our church.

A Prayer Shawl Ministry creates shawls that are knit with prayer so that friends may wrap themselves in warmth that is practical, loving, and prayerful.

Whatever you ask for in prayer with faith,
you will receive.
Matthew 21:22
