All explorers

Seekers can explore

You don’t have to know all the answers before you come and worship with us. We offer our church as a safe place for exploration because we are seekers ourselves. Every one of us is on a journey. We all have issues we wrestle with, doubts we struggle with, and questions that may never be answered this side of heaven. But it’s easier to find a good road to walk when we walk together.

if you indeed cry out for insight, and raise your voice for understanding;
if you seek it like silver, and search for it as for hidden treasures--
then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
Proverbs 2:3-5

All people

Diversity is welcomed

We believe that the more difference and variety we have at PVPC, the richer we are.
We rejoice that we are diverse in culture, age, ethnicity, and political and theological opinions. It’s not always easy, but it’s always interesting!

How very good and pleasant it is when kindred live together in unity!
Psalm 133:1

Different opinions are embraced

If all people’s beliefs were the same, we could never learn from each other. As we share our different ideas and opinions and beliefs, we challenge and are challenged. In the process, we come to understand better both our own beliefs and the viewpoints of others.

Jesus s our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one
and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us.
Ephesians 2:14

All ages

We have a wonderful mix of generations and our church, and
We don’t just love our kids, we respect them. We believe that each one of them has something unique that they bring to our “family.” We help them find appropriate ways to use the gifts and talents and skills they have. The more they contribute, the more they discover how important they are to us and to God!
Our young adults bring tons of energy and vitality and keep us in touch with today’s world, our middle-aged adults offer mature strength of mind and body, and our seniors share wisdom accumulated over many years of life experience. Each age group, like each person, brings unique and wonderful gifts that we treasure.

I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams.

Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17

You are family!

“Unknown friends” are invited

We have come to this church by many different roads, and we believe it was all part of God’s plan. We know God has similar plans for friends we haven’t met yet. Who knows? This web-site may be part of God’s plan to lead you to the Lord, and maybe even to us here at PVPC. If you're in our area, we invite you to come and find out!

Guests are like family

There’s no difference between members and guests when it comes to giving a hug, sitting down to talk or pray, taking a meal, offering transportation, or any of the other ways we serve one another here at PVPC. We decided long ago that any one who comes and worships with us will be treated as a member of our family. Of course, that means that, sooner or later, you’ll be asked to help with the chores, but that’s what a family is all about – everybody pitching in to help one another.

So then you are no longer strangers and aliens,
but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God.
Ephesians 2:19
